Offering strength, mobility, breath, and awareness ~
without having to get down onto the floor.
About This Series This class is currently offered as a 4-week introductory series. Because Chair Yoga is a new addition to our schedule, we are beginning with a shorter session to allow students to experience the class without a longer commitment.
Future offerings may continue in additional 4-week sessions, expand into a longer series, or transition to an ongoing monthly format.
Class Description A supportive yoga practice offering strength, mobility, breath, and awareness—without getting down on the floor.
This class is for you if you:
find getting up and down off the floor challenging or no longer appropriate for your body
prefer a practice that is fully accessible from a chair
want to maintain or improve strength, flexibility, mobility, balance, and coordination in a safe, supportive way
are recovering from injury, surgery, or periods of limited mobility (with medical clearance if needed)
experience stiffness, joint sensitivity, or fatigue and want a practice that meets you where you are
are seeking a thoughtful, intelligent yoga practice that honors both body and mind
In this class, the chair is used as a supportive tool, not a limitation. While much of the class is accessible from the chair, the ability to transition between sitting and standing is important, as standing postures are an integral part of the practice. Options will be offered when possible; however, this class is best suited for those who can sit upright in a chair and stand with support.
The practice includes:
seated yoga postures performed on the chair
standing postures using the chair and/or wall for balance and support
gentle strengthening, joint mobility, and coordination
breathing practices, inner focus, meditation, and moments of stillness
This is not a passive or restorative class, but a thoughtful, full-body, mind, breath TriYoga informed practice that supports functional movement, confidence, and inner awareness ~ meeting you where you are while encouraging stability, strength, flexibility, and ease. No prior yoga experience is necessary. There are no refunds for early cancellation.
