TriYoga​®

I teach a beautiful and transformative method of yoga called TriYoga. TriYoga is a revolutionary and complete system of yoga founded by Yogini Kaliji and taught in more than 40 countries. The style includes flowing sequences balanced with held postures joined by the breath. Fundamentals include relaxation-in-action, wave-like spinal movements, and economy of motion. The systematic approach allows you to move at your own pace progressing to subsequent levels when ready. Within each level, you will develop precise alignment, strength, flexibility, endurance, and a longer more expansive breath. Sustained awareness on all aspects of the practice harmonizes body, breath, and focus, awakening the inner flow.

Basics
Beginning with Basics, each level is a pre-requisite for the next. What we bring to each level is knowledge and understanding of what came before. Basics is where beginners begin and where intermediate and advanced students return again and again to refine and deepen understanding of the practice. Basics is the foundation and informs everything that follows. 

Over time this class will cover the five primary series that introduce the full range of movement to the body for optimal health and fitness. Sequences focus on freeing the hips and spine from tensions that impact the body and mind. Gentle movements simultaneously awaken the energy and calm the mind, leaving one feeling more relaxed and alive.

​Level 1

Level 1 builds on Basics and develops greater stamina, strength and flexibility. This level presents salutations, sequences of standing postures and extended flows for the spine and inversions at the wall. The earth element predominates in Level 1.

Level 2
Level 2 introduces longer flow sequences and new postures. We continue to develop the six directional spinal movements and six directional hip movements. Overall strengthening, balancing, and correct alignments are refined. Forearm balances and wall supported postures are introduced, as well as inversions away from the wall. Stamina increases through longer flowing sequences with rest postures spaced further apart. The water element predominates in Level 2.

​Therapeutic Yoga
Therapeutic Yoga draws from the five Basics Series of TriYoga. This class is for those who need a very gentle approach to yoga due to physical limitations, the aging body, injury, illness, or being over-tired and stressed. The yoga postures are deeply nurturing, therapeutic and restorative bringing the body and mind into a state of balance. Props are used to ensure comfort and to support proper alignment.

All TriYoga classes include asana (posture), pranayama (breath practices), dharana (concentration), yoga nidra (guided relaxation) and dhyana (meditation). You will also learn mudra and mantra ~ ancient tools for calming the chaos.
