Have you been curious about yoga but maybe a little intimidated by walking into a class where students "seem" to know what they are doing? If so then this series may be for you! I have designed the Intro to TriYoga Basics Course for you who are newer to yoga, new to this system of yoga, or maybe have not been in class for awhile and would like to improve the quality of your life. This course is also for you who already have a strong yoga practice and truly see the value of returning to basics to deepen understanding and refinement on the physical, mental, and spiritual plane. Enjoy definitive results such as:
Less muscle tension and pain; Less anxiety, stress, and feeling more calm; Feeling more joy with the release of endorphins; Improved flexibility, strength and range of motion; Improved concentration and mental functions; The inner peace that comes when you make the U-turn back inside.
The 8-week course is an introduction to the five basics foundational series of TriYoga, a comprehensive method of yoga. The course includes beginning yoga postures, the daily 5 breathing practices, inner focus, mudra and meditation. Props will be provided (for In Person) to ensure correct alignments, understand refinements, and to provide safety in the postures. You will also receive: • Access to my video library (during the course) to support and reinforce what you are learning in class.
The general format of the series will be as follows:
Session 1 - The Earth Series ~ Free The Hips Focus is on releasing tensions in the feet, legs, hips, and the six movements of the hips, lower back and shoulders. This series is deeply healing and restorative.
Session 2 - The Water Series ~ Free The Spine Introducing the spinal wave movements that release tension and stress through the back, shoulders, neck and arms, and beginning strengthening movements. We move the spine in four of the six directions it's designed to move in.
Session 3- Free the Hips & Spine ~ The Water Series with Earth ~ Moving through some of the postures that were introduced in the first two sessions.
Session 4 - The Fire Series (1) ~ Free The Hips & Strengthening Postures and movements to develop core strength, upper and lower body strength. Standing postures are introduced to develop strength, flexibility, and balance. Continuing with postures to open and bring more mobility to the hips and legs.
Session 5 - The Fire Series (2) Offering more hip opening and strengthening movements.
Session 6 ~ The Air Series ~ Free The Spine Using the wall as a prop, we will focus on the spine's six directional movements and introduce beginning supported wall inversions.
Session 7 - The Space Series ~ Free the Hips & Restorative This series also is at the wall and will focus again on the hips to release tensions and stress in this area. The space element brings a great inner expansion and deep restoration of body, mind, and spirit..
Session 8 ~ The Final Practice will be drawing on all five series.
All sessions will include instruction in yoga nidra (guided deep relaxation), breathing practices, concentration practices, meditation, yoga lifestyle and philosophy.
