With over three decades of experience as a yoga teacher, I believe that each person's yoga journey is unique and individual. TriYoga is not just about postures (which are wonderful), but also about connecting with your inner self and discovering peace, joy, and freedom in your daily life.
As your guide, I'll lead you through asana and kriya (both sustained and flowing movements) to help you explore your body and discover how each posture can benefit you. Our focus is not on achieving perfect postures, but on using the practice as a tool for self-inquiry, growth, and transformation.
By incorporating asana, pranayama, and meditation, we'll awaken your body, mind, and spirit, helping you gain clarity and awareness that will support you on your life journey.
Beginning with TriYoga Basics, each level is a prerequisite for the next. We bring to each level a healthy knowledge of the previous one. Level 1 builds on Basics and develops greater stamina, strength, and flexibility. This level presents salutations, sequences of standing postures, extended flows for the spine, and inversions at the wall.
Just like Basics, Level 1 also has five series - earth, water, fire, air, and space. In this course, we will be focusing on Earth and Water and showing how the foundation of Basics gives the support to transition to the next level. The knowledge that was gained in Basics such as how to use props, how to choose a different option, alignments, pacing, etc. will continue to be emphasized.
Asanas and flowing sequences are investigated. You will have the opportunity to explore your body and how the postures will work for you. Yoga is not a one-size-fits-all. We approach the practice not in the way of, "How can I perform this posture?", but instead with the inquiry of; "How will yoga meet meet me here today?" The trinity of asana, pranayama, & meditation offers a beautiful path for the awakening of body, mind, and spirit. As you learn, you will discover how the practice supports your life journey. You will learn how to integrate the practice into your daily life with ease and joy. You will begin to witness the clarity that comes moment by moment through the practice and gain the awareness of what is already within you; peace, joy, and pure presence of being.
You will learn the PranaVidya practices of Level 1 which continue to build on the Daily 5 that were first introduced in Basics.
Prana = Life Force or Energy Vidya = Knowledge PranaVidya includes the trinity of Pranayama (Breath), Dharana (Focused Awareness), and Dhyana (Meditation)
