Have you been curious about yoga but maybe a little intimidated by walking into a class where students "seem" to know what they are doing? If so then this series may be for you! I have designed the Intro to TriYoga Basics for you who are newer to yoga, new to this system of yoga, or maybe have not been in class for awhile and would like to improve the quality of your life with definitive results such as:
Less muscle tension and pain; Less anxiety, stress, and feeling more calm; Feeling more joy with the release of endorphins; Improved flexibility and physical strength; Improved concentration and mental functions.
This 8-week course will be an introduction and a deep dive into the five basics series of TriYoga, a comprehensive method of yoga. The course includes beginning yoga postures, the daily 5 breathing practices, inner focus, mudra and meditation. Props will be provided (for In Person) to ensure correct alignments, understand refinements, and to provide safety in the postures. Yoga philosophy will be offered and how to bring the yoga principles & practices into daily living.
Each session includes breathing practices, postures (moving and still), deep relaxation, inner focus and concentration practices, and meditation.
The format of the series will be as follows:
January 13 - The Earth Series ~ Free The Hips Focus is on releasing tensions in the feet, legs, hips, and the six movements of the hips, lower back and shoulders. This series is deeply healing and restorative.
Jan. 20 - The Water Series ~ Free The Spine Introducing the spinal wave movements that release tension and stress through the back, shoulders, neck and arms, and beginning strengthening movements. We move the spine in four of the six directions it's designed to move in.
Jan. 27 - Free the Hips & Spine ~ The Water Series with Earth ~ Moving through some of the postures that were introduced in the first two sessions.
Feb. 3 - The Fire Series ~ Free The Hips & Strengthening Postures and movements to develop core strength, upper and lower body strength. Standing postures are introduced to develop strength, flexibility, and balance. Continuing with postures to open and bring more mobility to the hips and legs.
Feb. 10 - The Air Series ~ Free The Spine Using the wall as a prop, we will focus on the spine's six directional movements and introduce beginning supported wall inversions.
Feb. 17 - The Space Series ~ Free the Hips & Restorative This series also is at the wall and will focus again on the hips to release tensions and stress in this area. The space element brings a great inner expansion and deep restoration of body, mind, and spirit.
Feb. 24 ~ The Fire Series (2) Offering more hip opening and strengthening movements.
March 3 ~ The Final Practice will be drawing on all five series.
All sessions will include instruction in yoga nidra (guided deep relaxation), breathing practices, concentration practices, meditation, and yoga lifestyle.
